ADVANTAGES OF CHARITABLE BEQUESTS

Easy

If you already have a will, we provide sample language that can easily be given to your attorney to add (see below). If you have not yet prepared a will, your attorney can simply incorporate bequest language as part of the drafting process. 

Flexible

Charitable bequests are flexible and easy to update. You can write one into a will with a short paragraph, and if circumstances change, your lawyer can edit your will upon your request. If you want to make a significant gift now but are not currently in a position to draw upon resources you may need in the years ahead, a bequest allows you to make a gift to support Ellis Early Learning while preserving your financial security during your lifetime.

Tax Benefits 

Under the current laws, a bequest to  Ellis Early Learning may result in a deduction against the value of your estate, reducing the amount of estate taxes. It's important to note that tax laws change over time, and you should continue to consult a financial planner or legal professional.

Charitable bequests can help the efficiency of settling an estate because the bequests provide clear instructions to the executor on how to distribute certain assets in accordance with the your wishes.

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to Ellis Early Learning, Inc. or its successor thereto, located at 58 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA 20116 (TAX I.D. 04-2104168) for Ellis Early Learning, Inc.'s general use and purpose

• The sum of ________ dollars; or

• All of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, or

• An amount equal to ____ percent of my estate after payment of debts, taxes, and expenses.
